چکیده
Abstract The runoff from the Upper Indus River Basin (UIB) is considered vital for sustainable water supply and agriculture. Climate change may alter affect availability of water. This study employs a hydrologic model climate projections fine-resolution Meteorological Research Institute-Atmospheric General Circulation Model (MRI-AGCM) (0.1875°) to assess impacts in future (2075–2099) on flows UIB its sub-basins. simulations have shown satisfactory results compared observed ones. Furthermore, simulated snow-cover was with estimated by Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). According results, meltwater glaciers contributes about two-thirds annual UIB. projections, temperature will increase 5.3 °C precipitation 17% across Despite this increase, river were projected decrease 14% because depleted glacier melt. detailed responses selected sub-basins showed different patterns depending elevation. In an eastern sub-basin, 58% enhanced melt higher precipitation. Contrarily, two western experience reduction flow 30–70% retreat.

Analysis of Streamflow Changes under Climate Change Using Rainfall-Runoff Model in the Kor River Basin
Abstract In this study, the predicted monthly temperature and rainfall data from HadCM3 model (base period, ۱۹۷۲-۲۰۰۱) and next period (۲۰۱۱-۲۰۴۰) under A2emission scenario were used to investigate the impacts of climate change on runoff variations in the Kor river basin. HadCM3 model output was downscaled based on a temporal downscaling approach (Change Factor) and spatial downscaling appro...

15 صفحه اولSensitivity of glacier runoff projections to baseline climate data in the Indus River basin
Quantifying the contribution of glacier runoff to water resources is particularly important in regions such as High Mountain Asia, where glaciers provide a large percentage of seasonal river discharge and support large populations downstream. In remote areas, direct field measurements of glacier melt rates are difficult to acquire and rarely observed, so hydro-glaciological modeling and remote ...
متن کاملConflicting Signals of Climatic Change in the Upper Indus Basin
Temperature data for seven instrumental records in the Karakoram and Hindu Kush Mountains of the Upper Indus Basin (UIB) have been analyzed for seasonal and annual trends over the period 1961–2000 and compared with neighboring mountain regions and the Indian subcontinent. Strong contrasts are found between the behavior of winter and summer temperatures and between maximum and minimum temperatur...
